Endings in therapy can be planned, unexpected, positive, difficult and they impact both our clients and us as therapists.


This reflective and interactive training offers space to explore the many forms endings can take and how we can navigate them with intention and care.

This specialist training is designed for counsellors, therapists and frontline practitioners who may receive disclosures of sexual violence in their work.

About the Training

Sexual violence can occur in any setting and affect anyone. The response a survivor receives when they disclose can significantly impact their safety, recovery and ongoing engagement with support.


Delivered alongside Charyl from Lifecentre via Zoom, this session will strengthen your confidence, understanding and trauma-informed practice.

What We Will Cover

• What is sexual violence and abuse?
• Why disclosure can feel difficult, unsafe or delayed
• How to respond appropriately, ethically and sensitively
• Managing boundaries and professional responsibility
• The emotional impact of supporting survivors
• Vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, burnout and moral injury
• Practical self-care strategies to protect your wellbeing


This training is particularly relevant for counsellors, psychotherapists, support workers, case workers, and others working frontline with disclosures of sexual violence.
