Children and Young People Counsellor- Work with Relationships Sussex (formerly Relate West Sussex)

 

CYP Counsellor (Children & Young People) – Crawley

Are you a passionate and skilled Children & Young People (CYP) Counsellor looking for a rewarding role in a supportive environment? Relationships Sussex (formerly Relate West Sussex, is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team, providing counselling for children and young people aged 5-18 (with a preference for experience within the entire age group, but we welcome those who have worked with older young people).


Role Details:

  • Location: Crawley. Other locations may be considered across West Sussex for the right candidate.
  • Hours: Minimum 8 hours per week, across 2-3 blocks (which may include after-school hours and Saturday mornings). Hours are flexible and can be agreed upon with the right candidate. These hours can be split between 2-3 counsellors, so please apply if you cannot commit to 8 hours a week.
  • Start Date: June 2025
  • Pay: £22.05 per counselling session, with £33.10 for each initial assessment

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education and training

-Recognised CYP counselling qualification.

-Willingness to undertake additional training and CPD as required by the service.

Experience

-Experience of assessing client needs and suitability for counselling.

-Experience of working with a range of counselling theories and methodologies.

-Experience of recognising and responding to safeguarding issues.

-Experience of maintaining accurate and appropriate records of counselling.

-Experience of working autonomously and as part of a team.
